A lovely pair of floor / table lamps by the French designer Louis Sognot, circa 1960. Sognot was a cabinetmaker, influenced by Art Deco and Cubism and became a professor of decoration at the acclaimed l’Ecole Boulein the 1920s.

Constructed from bamboo, rattan and off-white cotton, these lamps feature modest materials in response to material shortages after the war. When illuminated they cast beautifully soft light.
